    Function machFromTrueAirspeedKt

    • Computes the Mach number from true airspeed and outside air temperature. Mach number is the ratio of TAS to the local speed of sound, which varies with temperature (and thus altitude in ISA conditions).

      Parameters

      • trueAirspeedKt: number

        True airspeed in knots.

      • oatCelsius: number

        Outside air temperature in degrees Celsius.

      Returns number

      Mach number (dimensionless).
